Everyone, this is Electrician's Mate 2nd Class (SW) Joshua David, a native of Limestone, Tenn.
EM2 Davis enlisted in the Navy in 2008 to make a better life for himself and to travel the world.
Prior to being a recruiter in Navy Talent Acquisitions Group (NTAG) Nashville's Division 1's Navy Recruiting Station Johnson City, EM2 completed his tour on the USS George Washington (CVN 77) in 2012 and decided to get out and go to school at East Tennessee State University to pursue his degree in criminal justice. In 2015, EM2 then decided to continue to serve and join the Navy Reserves.
As a reservist, EM2 was assigned to NOSC Knoxville and in 2017 an opportunity to become a recruiter was an option. As a full time recruiter, EN2 has been excelling at all aspects of the job. He recruited over 125 Sailors, continuing education and completing certifications, and most importantly - the Navy has given him and his family stability.
His day to day job is a very hard working one. He's a Leading Petty Officer of a station and continues to train incoming recruiters the ropes to meet the command's goal. This is what makes him standout amongst his peers. On his off time, EM2 volunteers at a local shelter providing meals to homeless veterans. Some of his future goals is cross rating to become a Navy Recruiter and then promote to first class.
When asked what is the best part about serving the country and become a recruiter, this was his response, "I just want to be a role model for the Navy in this area, I want to continue to defending my country, and I want to show what opportunities are there and what others can get."
