    SAN ANTONIO - (May 13, 2022) Members of Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) San Antonio attended the Central Catholic High School JROTC Corps of Cadets Award Ceremony & Team Banquet. Founded March 25, 1852, Central Catholic High School, according to the school’s website, is one of the largest all-male private secondary schools in the state of Texas.

    The well-attended event was to honor the JROTC Corps of Cadets who have excelled throughout the school year. The evening started with the invocation given by Father Patrick McDaid followed by two special presentations for Cadets, one entering the United States Air Force, and the other entering U.S. Naval Academy.

    NTAG San Antonio’s Executive Officer, CDR Stacey O’Neal, Enlisted Programs Officer, Lieutenant Michael Wojdyla, and Sailor of the Quarter, PS1 Nicole Woodard, were in attendance for the fine event and looked on with pride as U.S. Naval Academy appointee, Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Teagan Flinn was honored. Flinn, who serves as the Executive Officer for his unit, was thankful for all who were able to attend and was eager to share his excitement for the next chapter of his life. “Joining the Navy is a dream,” said Flinn.

    Reflecting on the event, CDR O’Neal shared, “It was an honor to attend this event. To hear accomplishments by these Cadets was amazing and proves that our youth can achieve greatness.” CDR O'Neal, prior to Flinn's recognition was able to address the crown. At the conclusion of her remarks she paused, then offered a spirited, "Go Navy! Beat Army!" When asked what attending the banquet meant to him, Lt. Wojdyla replied, “It is great to see how awesome these young men are. It was an honor to be invited.”

    JROTC Senior Army Instructor, CPT Dwayne Rhodes discussed potential collaborative efforts for the Cadets Naval Instructions portion of their curriculum with CDR O’Neal and expressed thanks to NTAG San Antonio for attending the event. CDR O’Neal later mentioned how building a strong relationship with local schools lends to NTAG San Antonio's community outreach.

    NTAG San Antonio’s area of responsibility includes more than 30 Navy Recruiting Stations and Navy Officer Recruiting Stations spread throughout 144,000 square miles of Central and South Texas territory.
