Two change of command ceremonies were held at Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates, this week at the recently built Phantom Center. These formal transfers of authority took place for both the 380th Expeditionary Force Support Squadron and the 380th Expeditionary Operation Support Squadron.

The 380th EFSS change of command took place on May 3, 2022. Lt. Col. Monica L. Mason, the outgoing commander of the 380th EFSS, relinquished her command to Lt. Col. Marti L. Garrison. In this role, Garrison oversees day-to-day operations in the areas of personnel management, manpower, services support and sustainment, and regeneration capabilities to the Air Force, Army and Coalition partners at ADAB. Previously, Garrison has served in a variety of positions at the squadron, wing and major command levels, including an assignment to the Air Combat Command Inspector General as an FSS Inspector.

Garrison said, “To the men and women of the 380th EFSS, it is an honor to join your team and I look forward to the relationships, the great things we will do for this wing and the memories we will make. I am excited for what the future has in store for us.”

The change of command for the 380th EOSS took place on May 6, 2022. Lt. Col. Raymond “Banzai” Rounds, the outgoing 380th EOSS commander relinquished command to Lt. Col. Braden Coleman. Coleman who served as the director of operations for the 816th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron and secured the last five C-17s to leave Afghanistan in August 2021.

“This is going to be a great time,” said Coleman. “I am so looking forward to doing this. To the Operational Support Squadron, we may not know what’s next, but we know what we finished. We won the war, now let’s go win whatever comes next. Let’s do it together and let’s do it well. What we are going to do here is going to develop you guys. We are going to support the mission and we are going to continue to ‘Fly, Fight and Win.’ We are going to do that by working together."

The 380th EOSS executes air tasking orders for joint air operations, supports the 380th AEW priorities and executes its mission while maximizing Airmen readiness and excellence.
