    In anticipation of the Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point air show and 80th anniversary this weekend, U.S. Marine Corps Col. Mikel “Words” Huber and Lt. Col. Christopher Demars were featured on WCTI News. They answered questions about the air show and the static displays as well as COVID-19 mitigation efforts put in place by air show planners. Attendees will expect to see more handwashing stations and hand sanitizer than in previous air shows in an effort to mitigate COVID-19 risks. In addition, social distancing and the wearing of masks in Department of Defense, Center for Disease Control, North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, facilities aboard the air station will be more strictly enforced. At the end of the interview, Huber and retired Maj. Ray “Rainman” Pflederer had the opportunity to fly in a North American Aviation T-6 Texan to give a glimpse at the aerial demonstration you could be seeing at the MCAS Cherry Point air show this weekend.
