Lt. Benjamin Finn and Sgt. Kevin Eckelberg with the Fort McCoy (Wis.) Directorate of Emergency Services Police Department were recognized Dec. 2, 2021, by Garrison Commander Col. Michael Poss as part of the Garrison Command Team who presented the officers with a Commander’s Coin of Excellence for being selected to the fiscal year 2022 Defense Civilian Emerging Leaders Program (DCLEP).

According to the Army, DCLEP is the premier Department of Defense leader development program for civilians who are GS-07 to GS-12.

Both Finn and Eckelberg were selected through an Army Installation Management Command selection process. Both have been with the police department for many years.

Fort McCoy was established in 1909 and its motto is to be the “Total Force Training Center.” Located in the heart of the upper Midwest, Fort McCoy is the only U.S. Army installation in Wisconsin.

The installation has provided support and facilities for the field and classroom training of more than 100,000 military personnel from all services nearly every year since 1984.
