    48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team

Volunteers, Families, and Friends of the 48th IBCT,

Thanksgiving Day is a time to reflect on our blessings and fortune. It is a time to share with family and loved ones. As you celebrate this day, it is my hope that this letter reaches you to express my gratitude for each and every one of you.

You all have demonstrated extraordinary readiness, resilience and commitment to duty in 2021. You have attended drills, annual training and completed a Warfighter exercise this year to maintain our ability to respond at a moment’s notice for any mission, at home and abroad. Many of you served and accomplished missions of historic magnitude this year such as the 59th presidential inauguration and exercise African Lion, as well as continued support of COVID-19 response operations.

I am eternally grateful of your selfless service to accomplish all you have done in 2021. You have given your time and energy this year so that citizens of our state and nation can live in a land of protection and plenitude.

When deployed supporting military operations around the world, we celebrate this day from forward operating bases, often learning new customs and traditions from our international friends and partners. I am thankful we have opportunity to celebrate this year at home with our families and loved ones.

It is my hope this holiday gives you opportunity to celebrate the past and create lasting memories for the future. May all of you have a memorable, joyous and safe Thanksgiving holiday.

I wish you all the happiest Thanksgiving and warmest season’s greetings. Send me!

    Jason S. Baker
    COL, MI
    Commanding
