The Fisher House located at the old campus of William Beaumont Army Medical Center has continued to support active-duty veterans and retirees. Since the hospital move in July, the Fisher House has added a local taxi service for families seeking transportation to the new hospital.

"We are still here to support the active duty, veterans, retire and family members with the move taking place we had to find a way to make it more affordably when family’s come in so we decide with the help of the Fisher House Foundation that we will have a transportation to and from WBAMC free of charge will,” said Alice Coleman, manager of the Fisher House at WBAMC.

The Fisher House is part of a housing network in 65 locations across all military services and Veteran Affairs. The house has six rooms, two suites, four smaller rooms, a kitchen, dining room, living room, and laundry room.

Also, Coleman talked about the analytic data needed for the Fisher House to relocate to the new campus.

“We are now keeping data on file as needed, so when the time comes, we are ready to move and expand more services to the service member,” said Coleman.
Kenneth Collard, a veteran that resides in Chihuahua City, Mexico, explains the importance of the Fisher house.

"This is an excellent place to stay, very beautiful. The Fisher House solved a lot of our appointment issues when we come and visit El Paso,” said Collard.

The Murphy’s, an Air force family from Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico, gave a heartfelt comment about the fisher house.

"The Fisher house feels like a home away from home,” said Bryan Murphy.

According to Coleman, the Fisher house will continue to provide a warm, caring and compassionate environment for all family members and active-duty members and retirees in the community

"I am confident that we will be here for the service members and those who have served this country” said Coleman.
