    Lt. Col. Michael Thurman, Director of Fort Riley Directorate of Emergency Services, hosted the inaugural law enforcement breakfast at Fort Riley, Kansas, Sept. 2, 2021. The breakfast served as an open forum for the local law enforcement community to discuss crime trends, legislative impacts, and initiatives.

    Maj. Gen. Douglas A. Sims, II, Commanding General of the 1st Infantry Division, and Col. William B. McKannay, Commander of U.S. Army Garrison Fort Riley, attended and participated in an open discussion with the group. Senior law enforcement officials across the community attended along with 1st Inf. Div. and Fort Riley soldiers.

    The law enforcement breakfasts are scheduled to occur quarterly with the goal of enhancing community relationships and streamlining services.
