Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC)
Southeast awarded a $20 million maximum dollar value, indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity contract, April 30, to ACE Engineering, Inc. (small business) for multiple paving projects located within the Florida Panhandle Area of Operations (AOO).
An initial task order is being awarded at $59,631 for repairs to Davis Road onboard Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, Florida, which is routinely used by the base’s emergency services.
"The road expansion will provide a safer avenue of access for our fire trucks when entering or leaving the firehouse," said NAS Pensacola Fire Chief Dan Chiappetta.
The contract will allow additional paving projects to be performed at other installations located across the Florida Panhandle AOO, including: Pensacola, Milton, Panama City, and Naval Operational Support Centers (NOSC) and Naval Outlying Landing Fields (OLF) located in Florida and Alabama.
"This is the seed project for a new contracting tool that will provide us and other bases in the Florida Panhandle better agility for future projects regarding road and infrastructure repairs on the installation," said NAS Pensacola Public Works Officer Cmdr. Ancelmo McCarthy.
The work to be performed is for general asphalt and concrete paving projects including airfield, roadway, and parking area pavement resurfacing, isolated repair, full-depth reconstruction and incidental related paving work for Department of Defense activities managed by NAVFAC Southeast located in the Florida Panhandle AOO.
Work on the initial task order will be performed in Pensacola, Florida, and is expected to be completed by June 2021.

Each year NAVFAC establishes target goals for Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB), Historically Underutilized Business Zone Small Business (HUBZONE), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), and Women-Owned Small Business categories. Utilizing these small business concerns to the maximum extent practicable is a matter of National interest with both social and economic benefits.
