PORTSMOUTH, Va. – A happy Sailor is a productive Sailor; however, the task of keeping up morale for more than 2,800 Sailors is not an easy one. Reagan Olsen, the new Fun Boss onboard USS George H. W. Bush (CVN 77), is excited to be the one taking on the challenge.
“I love getting people out of their comfort zone and showing them new things,” Olsen said. “You guys actively work every single day so that we can enjoy our families. The least I can do is bring you on a trip so that you can have some fun.”
Raised in a military household in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Olsen knows how difficult it can be for Sailors to find new opportunities. Olsen studied outdoor recreation and event management at Central Michigan University and graduated in 2019. She spent the last two years working in outdoor recreation on Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho.
Olsen hopes to provide new opportunities and experiences to the Sailors stationed here, while gaining as much experience as possible.
