NMOTC Undergoes Name and Logo Change

PENSACOLA, Fl. – The Navy Medicine Operational Training Center (NMOTC) recently changed its name and logo to better align with the Navy Medicine platform model.

On January 12, NMOTC officially became the Navy Medicine Operational Training Command. The name change reflects Navy Medicine’s effort to move beyond the dated practice of establishing “centers for excellence”.

Along with a name change, NMOTC received a new logo and revised mission for the command. The revised mission is to “provide training for operational medicine and aviation survival. Support the Fleet and Fleet Marine Force with operational medicine consultative services, conduct education and training programs for medical department personnel in various operational medicine disciplines and ensure the readiness of operational forces by providing aviation survival training.”

The new NMOTC logo was developed in alignment with the new standardized BUMED-branded logos. The use of consistent logos and emblems is designed to further establish Navy Medicine as a cohesive team of healthcare professionals across all the Navy, always ready to provide medical power to save lives in the battlespace.

“NMOTC provides relevant and responsive medical education, training, qualification services and support to our customers, enabling them to perform in increasingly complex operational environments while successfully navigating the waters of increased resource constraints, reorganization and emerging world events,” said Capt. Matthew Hebert, commanding officer of NMOTC. “NMOTC continually eyes future battlespace which allows each of our detachments to accelerate responsiveness and anticipation of new requests for operational medical training on the horizon.”

NMOTC is based in Pensacola, Fla., consisting of six detachments, 16 training centers and 103 facilities at 19 Navy, Marine Corps and Army locations.
