    RHC-P recognizes Soldiers, Civilians during creative Hail and Farewell

    JOINT BASE LEWIS-McCHORD, Wash. – Regional Health Command-Pacific got creative with its hail and farewell ceremony and awards ceremony here Tuesday, Sept. 29, due to restrictions and challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Utilizing videoconferencing technology to allow for social distancing and for those teleworking to attend, the command recognized 15 Soldiers and civilians were recognized during the event.

    The hail and farewell is a longstanding military tradition that celebrates those arriving at or departing a command.

    The ceremony also recognized Soldiers and civilians receiving awards for their performance or upon their permanent changes of station.

    RHC-P, the most geographically-dispersed command in Army Medicine, oversees Army medical treatment facilities and units in the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, Hawaii, Japan and South Korea.
