JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. – Recruiters assigned to the Virginia Air National Guard are hosting a virtual career event via Facebook Live, @VaANGRecruiting, Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. The event will feature a panel of current VaANG Airmen who work in Air Force career fields including tactical aircraft maintenance, geospatial intelligence, munition systems and more. In this forum, viewers can submit their questions for Airmen to answer live in a discussion around life in the VaANG and the U.S. Air Force.

“The mission hasn’t stopped because of the pandemic; we still need people in these critical career fields to get it done,” said Master Sgt. Kevin Singleton, VaANG Recruiting flight chief. “While we can’t go into places to present these opportunities the way we want to, we want people to know we’re still here and we’re still working to help them find the job they want in the Air National Guard.”

More than 1,200 Virginia Air National Guard Airmen are assigned to the 192nd Wing at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton and the Virginia National Guard Sergeant Bob Slaughter Headquarters at Defense Supply Center Richmond.

The mission of the 192nd Wing is to provide a fully-trained organization of volunteer-Airmen dedicated to protect and defend the vital interests of the nation, state and community. The wing provides combat-ready personnel and equipment to support the United States’ national security objectives in a federal capacity; protects life and property and preserves peace, order and safety in a state capacity; and participates in local, state and national programs that add value to the U.S. in a community capacity.
In addition to state missions, the wing associates with the regular Air Force, spanning three major commands, and performs standalone federal missions. The unit is comprised of four groups assigned to specific areas of expertise required to execute the missions: 192nd Operations Group, 192nd Maintenance Group, 192nd Mission Support Group and 192nd Medical Group.
