    Joint Multinational Readiness Center

HOHENFELS, Germany – The air is crisp, flowers are coming into bloom and the norm has changed. The Joint Multinational Readiness Center, the beacon of premiere training in Europe, may seem like it’s at a halt while the Hohenfels community fights against COVID-19. However, Soldiers can be seen taking part in top shelf socially distanced training and high-speed physical fitness training to include those Soldier who are taking care of the military vehicles that drive the driven to complete their mission.

Consolidated Maintenance Activity or CMA as they are normally referred to have not faded off into the shadows. CMA during rotations at Hohenfels provide the highest quality maintenance on the various military vehicles that occupy the training area during rotations.

"CMA conducts minor and major repairs as needed for vehicles being used for mission/ rotation. CMA has 24-hour recovery operation support for vehicles that become inoperable,” said Sgt. William Ortiz, the Recovery Non-commissioned Officer in charge.

Though there are no rotations going on because of COVID-19 and the need to combat that enemy, through the efforts of social distancing and limited personnel in the workspace; CMA has not stopped working tirelessly to keep your vehicles mission ready.

"CMA always has missions. Our current mission is to repair and maintain wheeled vehicles for JMRC critter teams for them to achieve their mission. Also, we are on standby for recovery operations if needed,” Ortiz said.

Soldiers are not shocked when obstacles come their way. Adapt and overcome is a mantra used amongst the ranks, and since the recent enemy has arisen the Soldiers at Hohenfels have not missed a beat when facing this enemy. JMRC has a way of making Soldiers acceptable and adaptable to change.

“Workflow in CMA has not changed during COVID-19,” said Ortiz. “We have worked on a full proof schedule to maintain our Soldiers health and welfare, applied the social distancing protocols and adapted to this change.”

COVID-19 will not win against the strong will, determination and practices of JMRC Soldiers and the Hohenfels community. The lethality of the force is ever growing, the technical aspects of the individual’s fields are being fostered and applied and JMRC stands ready to win.
