GREAT LAKES, Ill. (Feb. 27, 2020) – Naval Station Great Lakes announced their Civilians of the Quarter for the fourth quarter in an awards ceremony February 7, 2020.
Kathi Hesselgrave, from Amite, Louisiana, was named Non-supervisor Civilian of the Quarter for the fourth quarter for Great Lakes. Hesselgrave works at Fleet and Family Support Center Great Lakes as the social advisory clinical counselor.
“I am so honored to be nominated and selected as civilian of the quarter – mostly because all of my colleagues in my department are just as worthy!” said Hesselgrave.
Hesselgrave provides a range clinical services to sailors and their dependents including individual, couple, and family counseling. She serves as a case manager for the Family Advocacy Program and as a case manager for the Sailor Assistance & Intercept for Life program. She began working with FFSC in 2007. Hesselgrave has her undergraduate in psychology and her Master’s in social work. She says
“I love working with people and helping them to reach their potential or assist in getting them through a rough patch in life,” said Hesselgrave. “I am so grateful to be part of this great organization. Currently, it has the very best leadership in any job I have had my 35 years as a social worker. I am so grateful for the team I work with!”
