JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C.— U. S. Air Force Units from Joint Base Charleston, S.C. hosted a Cadet Career Day for Junior Reserves Officer Training Corps (JROTC) and Reserves Officer Training Corps (ROTC) cadets from multiple high schools and colleges in South Carolina and Georgia, Feb. 20, 2020.
The career day connected over 100 cadets, giving them face-to-face interaction with service members to a gain perspective on what it means to serve in the United States Armed Forces.
“I think these events impact cadets because it gives them options,” said Ms. Neysa Williams, the Community Engagement Director for Joint Base Charleston. “This is a military town that has always been supportive of all branches in the military. Anytime we can bring them onto the installation to show them what we do and how their tax dollars are being spent, it’s a win-win situation.”
Service members representing the Air Force came from a variety of career fields, including: C-17 Globemaster III aircraft pilots, C-17 loadmasters, security forces specialists, emergency management specialists and many more. The representatives from the U.S. Army, Navy and Coast Guard also had booths on display to educate and showcase what their specific branches have to offer the cadets who wished to explore other career options.
