U.S. Marine Corps Col. Mikel Huber, commanding officer of Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, made a special visit to MCAS Cherry Point Public Works Department, to recognize Alvin Fonville and Fred Shimmel for more than 65 years of combined federal service February 19, 2020. Fonville received the Length of Service Award for 35 years of service, Shimmel was honored for 30 years.
