HORSHAM AIR GUARD STATION, Pa. – The 111th Attack Wing Chief Master Sgt. Robert Ferguson accepted authority as command chief master sergeant from 111th ATKW Commander Col. Bill Griffin during a ceremony here, Feb. 8.

Command chiefs advise the unit commanders on all enlisted matters, including all issues affecting the command's mission and operations; and the readiness, training, utilization, morale, technical and professional development; and quality of life of all enlisted members in the organization.

“My first goal as your command chief is to empower the Airmen,” said Ferguson. “I intend on spending a great deal of time with the Rising Six Counsel – mentor them, inspire them, because I know they’re capable of doing great things.”

Prior to arriving here, Ferguson spent 18 years at the 105th Airlift Wing, Stewart Air National Guard Base, New York, and fulfilled multiple superintendent roles: base defense, airlift wing and superintendent. He was a 111th Security Forces Squadron member here before attaining his current position.

During the event Chief Master Sgt. Paul Frisco relinquished his authority and recalled serving alongside his understudy.

“I’m proud of (Ferguson),” said Frisco. “I’ve watched him grow while he’s been at the 111th Attack Wing. I was on his interview board for the security forced position, he blew it out of the water and hasn’t stopped since.

“He’s the right person for this position and take the wing well into the future.”

The 111th Attack Wing’s stated and federal missions are to engage locally and globally with ready forces in order to defend the homeland, support civil authorities, build partnerships and deliver multi-domain dominance to combatant commanders.
