Ft. Custer's facility must be reviewed by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services staff before its use and HHS is responsible for all care of the potential Ft. Custer guests. The Michigan National Guard's only role is to provide additional housing and will not be in direct contact with any of the guests. HHS is responsible for providing medical services, security, and enforcing the quarantine.
The Michigan National Guard is always ready to respond to protect the homeland whenever called upon by state and federal authorities.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and the Michigan National Guard are closely coordinating with interagency partners to ensure accurate and timely information.
