Fort McCoy RMO’s Karin Hoying awarded Garrison Employee of the Month

Karin Hoying with the Garrison Resource Management Office (RMO) was awarded the Fort McCoy Garrison Civilian Employee of the Month for December 2019.

Hoying serves as the senior budget analyst in the RMO.

In her position, Hoying performs a wide range of administrative, technical, and analytical duties in the formulation, presentation, and execution of the garrison commander’s annual budget, according to her job description. She also directly assists the budget officer with daily operations, analyses, research, and budget policy.

Hoying was nominated for the honor by Maureen Richardson, Fort McCoy resource management officer at RMO, for work she completed supporting the garrison.

Richardson thanked her during the presentation of the award Jan. 13.

“Karin did a great job filling in for the budget officer recently,” Richardson said. “She also did a great job making sure the fiscal year 2020 funds were distributed to every directorate immediately at the start of the new fiscal year. She also led the budget staff and kept the office running while the budget officer was away.

“Karin has a special talent, in that she anticipates what needs to get done, and she just gets it done, without anyone asking her to do it,” Richardson said. “So to Karin, thank you for all your hard work and everything you do.”

Hoying was presented with a commander’s coin for excellence by Garrison Commander Col. Hui Chae Kim.

“I was recognized for covering down for the budget officer during an absence,” Hoying said. “The RMO management is very supportive so it’s easy to step up when needed. I also have the pleasure to work with a very hard-working dedicated team of professionals. I have one of the best jobs at Fort McCoy.”

Located in the heart of the upper Midwest, Fort McCoy is the only U.S. Army installation in Wisconsin.

The installation has provided support and facilities for the field and classroom training of more than 100,000 military personnel from all services each year since 1984.
