CAMP LEMONNIER, Djibouti (NNS) - Vice Adm. Lisa Franchetti, commander, U.S. 6th Fleet, Rear Adm. Yancy Lindsey, commander Navy Region Europe, Africa, Central and Command Master Chief Johannes Gonzalez, U.S. 6th Fleet, visited Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Jan. 15, 2020.

Franchetti toured Camp Lemonnier's facilities, departments and tenant commands including Coastal Riverine Squadron ONE, Emergency Medical Facility, Explosive Ordnance Disposal TWO, and Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa.

"Everybody here plays a role in enabling operations," said Franchetti. "From the culinary specialists who serve food, to those to supporting ships that are coming in and out of 5th Fleet, to those who are going down range; everybody here plays a role."

Franchetti also held an all-hands call for Navy personnel stationed at Camp Lemonnier.

"I really want to say thank you very much to all of you who are here every day at the point of friction," Franchetti said to the assembled sailors. "You are truly making a big difference out here protecting our national interests and strengthening our relationships with our partners in the Region."

Camp Lemonnier, located in the Horn of Africa, is an operational installation that enables the U.S., allied, and partner nation forces to be where and when they are needed to ensure security in Europe, Africa, and Southwest Asia.
