VICENZA, Italy (Jan. 19) - The Community Readiness and Resiliency Council launched its second online survey here last month to take the pulse of the U.S. Army Garrison Italy community on a range of quality of life issues.

The first quality of life survey was done in 2018 and was helpful in focusing on priorities that affected the Vicenza and Camp Darby military communities the most. This survey will follow up on many of the areas first surveyed to see if progress is being made and where to focus resources.

“The Army Public Health Center developed a Standardized Community Strengths and Themes Assessment that is based on a nationally recognized process sanctioned through the National Association of County & City Health Officials,” said USAG Italy Community Readiness and Resiliency Integrator Amy Cates. “The standard survey is still 35 questions but we added additional spiritual readiness questions added 15 of our own USAG Italy specific questions again.”

Community members can take the online survey now through Feb. 29 at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/QOL_Italy

According to Cates, there is an incentive to complete the survey, which should take less than 10 minutes.

“We were fortunate to receive again a certificate from Morale, Welfare and Recreation for a free two-night stay at the Edelweiss Lodge and Resort [in Garmisch, Germany] to give away. We will have a drawing from a list of emails from those who complete the survey. But even without the drawing, everyone’s input is critical to help assess the needs of the USAG Italy community. The results will help us make the right decisions about resources, programs and services. Results may also open doors to new opportunities,” she said.

Survey results will be shared with the community after garrison leadership has an opportunity to review the data.
