The Nevada Air National Guard recognized its top performing Airmen today, Jan. 12, 2020, during its annual award ceremony at the Nevada Air National Guard Base in Reno.
Additionally, the ceremony recognized finalists for top Airman, non-commissioned officer, senior non-commissioned officer and company grade officer in the state.
The award ceremony provides an opportunity for the Nevada Air National Guard to recognize its top performers in the categories of duty performance, safety, diversity and inclusion and exemplary service. It also allows the Nevada Air National Guard to recognize its community partners and thank them for their support.
The following are the awards and winners in the order they were presented:
• Nevada’s “Top Shot,” Adjutant General Marksmanship Match: Master Sgt. Michael Moore
• Recruiter of the Year: Tech. Sgt. Chelsea Canaday
• Diversity Award: Chief Master Sgt. Angela Ash
• NGB Excellence in Diversity, Best Air National Guard Unit: 152nd Maintenance Group
• Safety Award: Tech. Sgt. Jeffrey Sarkis, Tech. Sgt. Christopher Crossley and Senior Airman Victoria Stapledon

The Nevada Air National Guard also announced the nominations for Airman of the Year, non-commissioned officer of the year, senior non-commissioned officer of the year and company grade officers of the year. Winners will be announced during the annual Outstanding Airman of the Year Banquet at 7 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Atlantis Resort Casino.
• Airman of the Year quarterly nominations: Senior Airman Shalee Meier, Senior Airman Joshua Adams, Staff Sgt. Matthew Greiner and Airman Jessica Santella.
• Non-commissioned Officer of the Year: Tech. Sgt. Joshua Noles, Tech. Sgt. Brian Skach, Tech. Sgt. Sean Bird and Tech. Sgt. Kentris.
