The Air National Guard training and education center recently applauded three Airmen as it's outstanding performers for the fourth quarter in 2019.

The awardees, along with nearly a dozen runners up, were celebrated Jan 7 during the commander’s all-staff meeting on the I.G. Brown Training and Education Center campus outside Knoxville.

“We recognized everybody that was nominated, and we recognized the supervisors who took the time to nominate and recognize the great things these Airmen are doing,” said U.S. Air Force Col. Kenneth Lozano, commander. “In the eyes of supervisors and your peers, everybody knows that you are rock stars.”

NCO of the Quarter: Tech. Sgt. Ebonie Hills is a professional military education instructor assigned to the Chief Master Sergeant Paul H. Lankford EPME Center.

Supervisors said that Sergeant Hills demonstrated leadership and performance in her duties as team lead for the resiliency tactical pause – she coached and coordinated a five-member team to ensure the Chief of Staff of the Air Force initiatives. The day-long event bolstered communication and resiliency for the entire staff.

Sergeant Hills served as the Morale Committee president. She coordinated the acquisition of the unit OCP patch as well as four morale events. She also completed the Senior Enlisted Joint PME course and completed 25 hours toward her International Sports Sciences Association training certification.

Senior NCO of the Quarter: Master Sgt. Heather McNeil is an EPME instructor assigned to Lankford EPME Center.

Supervisors said that Sergeant McNeil demonstrated leadership and performance by coordinating a Four Lenses training for 16 students, which fostered personal and professional growth. She also penned a public affairs article highlighting wellness and the four pillars of resiliency that promoted unit priorities.

Sergeant McNeil organized a Thanksgiving potluck and chili cook-off that raised funds for the morale committee as well as built esprit de corps. She also managed four marathon relay teams, which finished within the top eight of the event.

Civilian Category III of the Quarter: Jennifer Thomas is the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response coordinator assigned to TEC.

Supervisors said that Thomas was the primary SAPR coordinator providing multi-issue training for TEC and the 134th Air Refueling Wing. She was a vital asset in the resiliency tactical pause - she guided the team to maximum participation. Thomas also briefed EPME students in emergent-leader issues, which ensured students equipped with coping skills. She provided counseling support to the local community to include assistance to the homeless.

The awardees received an award plaque and other accolades.
