A Federal Express (FedEx) semi tractor-trailer loaded with Christmas trees arrived on post for a drop-off Dec. 5, 2019, at the South Post Housing area at Fort McCoy, Wis., as part of the 2019 Trees for Troops event.
Overall, FedEx and the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation delivered 17,000 trees nationwide to military members and their families in 2019.
Soldiers with the Fort McCoy Noncommissioned Officer Academy and the Fort McCoy Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers organization helped unload the truck.
The Christmas SPIRIT Foundation tapped FedEx for the 15th year for the Trees for Troops Program, according to treesfortroops.org.
In 2019, FedEx Freight helped deliver Christmas trees to more than 75 domestic and international U.S. military bases.
Located in the heart of the upper Midwest, Fort McCoy is the only U.S. Army installation in Wisconsin.
Fort McCoy lives its motto, “Total Force Training Center.”
The installation has provided support and facilities for the field and classroom training of more than 100,000 military personnel from all services each year since 1984.
