William “Bill” Quackenbush, Ho-Chunk Deer Clan member, tribal historic preservation officer, and Ho-Chunk Cultural Resources Division manager, gave a presentation Nov. 21, 2019, during the Fort McCoy, Wis., Native American Heritage Month observance at McCoy's Community Center.
Quackenbush discussed the history and heritage of the Ho-Chunk people.
Located in the heart of the upper Midwest, Fort McCoy is the only U.S. Army installation in Wisconsin.
Fort McCoy lives its motto, “Total Force Training Center.”
The installation has provided support and facilities for the field and classroom training of more than 100,000 military personnel from all services each year since 1984.
