Soldiers with the U.S. Army and Kuwait Land Forces discussed tactics, techniques and procedures for locating and surveying chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear hazards on the battlefield during a subject matter expert exchange between the two forces in October.
"It's meant a lot to us to share our skills with others and learn a lot about their standard operating procedures. Exchanges like this help build trust and unity with our coalition partners and host nation's military," said Capt. Andrew E. Deal, 379th Chemical Company commander.
Troops with Task Force Spartan regularly participate in exchanges like these to ensure interoperability and readiness between the allied forces.
Through Operation Spartan Shield, Task Force Spartan troops maintain a U.S. military posture in southwest Asia sufficient to strengthen defense relationships and build partner capacity.
Units supporting Spartan Shield provide capabilities such as aviation, logistics, force protection and information management, and they facilitate theater security cooperation activities such as key leader engagements, joint exercises, conferences, humanitarian assistance planning and disaster response planning.
