Halloween is a fun-filled holiday. The garrison safety officer offers these safety tips to avoid any unwanted Halloween scares. Make this month a safe, fun, and happy time that’s enjoyed by all:
    • Supervise children and stay in familiar. Parts of Villaggio are not well lit and little ones can get lost.
    • A traffic safety plan will be in effect. Be careful of emergency vehicles and other unplanned traffic.
    • Choose a costume that is easy to walk in, easy to see out of, and can be seen by drivers. Light colors and reflective tape are recommended. Make-up is better for a child's visibility than a mask.
    • Costumes and wigs can be dangerous around open flames. Choose nonflammable materials, give children flashlights, and use battery-operated candles in decorations.
    • Unpackaged items like popcorn or loose candies and candy with torn wrappers should be discarded.
