An 86th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron noncommissioned officer
was awarded Airlifter of the Week, Sept. 5, 2019.
U.S. Air Force Col. Matthew S. Husemann, 86th Airlift Wing vice commander, and Chief Master Sgt.
Ashley Williams, 86th Logistics Readiness Squadron superintendent, congratulated Tech. Sgt. Christine
Williams, 86th AES NCO in charge of aircrew training.
“It’s a testament of your leadership what you do every day,” said Husemann. “To impart that training to
a squadron of folks, that makes a difference across the globe.”
As the NCO in charge of aircrew training, she streamlined eight scheduling databases, updated 11
operating instructions, and elevated four checklists required in training newly assigned nurses and
technicians to the 86th AES.
By doing so she was able to reduce student training by 57 days.
She was also recognized for leading and executing the 2019 U.S. Air Forces in Europe Emergency
Medical Technician Rodeo. The event brought together seven teams of four and 12 evaluator cadres
from across Europe. Participants rotated through six skills stations highlighting important skills for
medics and combat medics.
“This was a fantastic event and went as well as we could have hoped for our first one in USAFE,” said
Chief Master Sgt. Jason Oldenburg, USAFE-AFAFRICA Command Surgeon chief. “It’s vital for our medics
to have the opportunity to train like we fight.”
The Airlifter of the Week program recognizes Ramstein Airmen for their hard work and dedication,
making the 86th AW the ‘World’s Best Wing.’
