“There is a lot to our job,” stated Traffic Management Journeyman Senior Airman Andrea Romero who often works in Receiving.

Everything an Airman could use, shoot, build, or ride in, is processed by LRS personnel.

Romero goes on to say, “We ship everything from parts to people here, so without us no one would have the gear they need for the mission. Receiving is very important because everything that comes into the unit, comes straight to me. I make sure everything on the order is there, then deliver it to its final destination.”

Airmen of the 150th LRS take pride in their work, knowing that the success of the New Mexico Air National Guard’s mission starts here.

“With the supervisors and co-workers I have, I couldn’t be more blessed. We all work as a cohesive team. There is never any, ‘That’s his job, or this is her job. It is always, ‘Our job…’ and we all do it together as a team. I’ve been set up for success by my leadership and don’t plan on going anywhere else” says Staff Sergeant Armando Amador.

Shipping equipment all over the country, distributing needed supplies, and coordinating travel for 1000+ Airmen can be labor intensive, but it does have its benefits.

The LRS members are more than willing to get Airmen their gear as quickly as possible every day. They have everything you could think of, except the ability to put into words how much their unit means to them.

Amador adds, “Even on the harder days, what’s not to love? Since I’ve become AGR [Active Guard Reserve], it’s been more than a blessing to be in this shop. I don’t even know how to describe it.”
