More than a job

139th Airlift Wing

Angela Crane is the lead key volunteer with the 139th Airlift Wing resiliency center and has been a key volunteer for two years. In her role, she oversees the resiliency center programs for both the wing and the Advanced Airlift Tactical Training Center. With nine key volunteers and 20 event volunteers she ensures that all volunteers are fully trained and maintain their qualifications.

As a leader in the resiliency center, Crane helps Airmen and their families with a multitude of issues including: members transitioning out of the military, retiring from the military, family support while deployed, base events, and personal, family, and social issues that members or families may have.

“The 139th is a family, and I like doing what I can to help the members and their families,” said Crane.

When not volunteering her time for the 139th, she is an operations manager for Ehrhardt Properties. She has held this positon for the past two years where she is responsible for the overall operations of all departments.

While holding this influential role as part of her company’s leadership, the company earned the prestigious 5 for 5 Hospitality award after only being in business for six years. She is also active in her community. She is a board member for the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA), St. Joseph Community Grant Committee, and the St. Joseph Performing Arts Committee.

Volunteering is important to Crane. She says if people have time, they should give it.

Crane was recently nominated for the Woman in the Workplace – Leadership Award by the YWCA. This nomination is anonymous coming from a member of the community and directly correlates to her work and involvement in the community.

“This is more than a job,” said Crane who also said the wing’s resiliency center is always looking for volunteers.
