CONTINGENCY OPERATING SITE MAREZ-EAST, Iraq — Soldiers from the 359th Intra Cargo Transfer Company, 18th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 16th Sustainment Brigade, received their combat patches for Operation Iraqi Freedom at a ceremony in the company's motor pool here, April 18.
During the ceremony, Capt. Bertalina Villar, commander, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 18th CSSB, and 1st Sgt. Moises Gonzales, first sergeant, HHC, 18th CSSB, along with representatives from other sections within the battalion attended the ceremony to congratulate each Soldier on earning their combat patch.
"I feel very proud of all Soldiers from this detachment, and it was an honor to present them with their deployment patches," said Villar.
The company is integrated with numerous combat veterans who have been previously deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
Sgt. 1st Class Myron Moore, platoon sergeant, 359th ICTC, and a native of Yorktown, Va., is serving his fifth deployment, and said that he is proud of his service.
"It's a significant event in my career, serving as a platoon sergeant of 51 Soldiers in combat under the 18th CSSB," said Moore. "It's an honor to serve my country."
