Master Sgt. Green: The gatekeeper to the palace

A service member may pursue the reservist avenue for a wide variety of reasons. From the competitive healthcare to the ability to pursue educational or career opportunities, the U.S. Air Force Reserve may be the best fit for some. Citizen Airmen play an integral role in the success of the total force mission.
Master Sgt. Stephen Green, 315th Airlift Wing in-service recruiter, is the man to see for any active duty service member, or spouse that may be interested in the opportunities that the USAFR may have to offer. He is tasked with manning the force that is stationed locally, but serves globally.
“Together, a recruit and I, will make sure that they are a good fit for the force, but just as importantly, that the force is a good fit for them,” said Green. “I live for the Airmen that walk through my door.”
Palace Chase and Palace Front are programs offered to active-duty officers and enlisted members, giving them the opportunity to transfer from active duty to an air reserve component.
Palace Chase is specifically for active duty members with time yet to serve on their service commitment. Palace Front, on the other hand, allows an active duty service member to transfer to a reserve component the day after their active duty commitment has been served in full.
“People want to join for a variety of reasons,” said Green. “Deciding which program is best for a recruit requires me to ask some questions, sometimes tough questions. I want to make sure they are making the most informed decision while writing the next chapter in their lives.”
To gather more information on either program, Green holds a weekly briefing on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. in his office which is located in the Military Personnel Center, building 503.
