Six Airmen assigned to the 178th Commander’s Support Staff conducted annual training June 3-16 at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The 178th administrative specialists provided support to the 154th Mission Support Group. They archived more than 12,000 sets of orders that spanned over a period of 20 years.
“This training has been beneficial because it allows us to step out of our comfort zones and learn something new,” said Senior Airman Cana Biser, an administrative specialist with the 178th Mission Support Group.
In addition to assisting with record management, the 178th Airmen processed more than 100 evaluations and reviewed awards and decorations.
“I’m able to connect with administrative specialists that are outside of my unit to learn about different ways of doing things,” said Airman 1st Class Megan Jackson, an administrative specialist with the 178th Operations Group. “There’s always something to learn when you’re in a new environment.”
Airmen assisted with updating manning documents to provide a clear picture of the status of the unit. Members with the 178th Wing and 154th Wing also exchanged information about mail room processes to gain insight on how to improve procedures.
“This trip helps us build relationships with other units and learn how we can improve the way we do things back home,” said Staff Sgt. Tyler Armstrong, an administrative specialist with the 178th Civil Engineer Squadron.
