Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) Lejeune-New River Youth Sports will be partnering with the leading soccer camp company in North America, Challenger Sports, for its fourth year.
Challenger Sports offers a variety of summer camps providing quality training by coaches from Great Britain and Brazil who are selected and trained specifically to give your child the best possible camp experience.
“Instructors come from many areas along the European theater,” said Christopher Williams, the youth sports manager with MCCS. “Families in our area have the opportunity to serve as hosts for the coaches during their stay with us.”
Challenger Sports combined the most popular elements of their existing industry-leading camp programs, British Soccer Summer Camp and Tetra Brazil Soccer Academy Futsal Camp, and innovated a fully integrated soccer camp named Challenger International Soccer Camp.
The British Soccer Camp is the program MCCS has traditionally used for the past three years. It will be returning this summer on June 17-21, 2019 for ages 4-14 and will be taking place at the Goettge Memorial Field House Sports Complex on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
According to Challenger Sports, it is the most popular camp in the United States and Canada. The British Soccer Camp is an innovative curriculum that develops skills, speed and confidence in players of all ages and abilities. It features World Cup style games each day where campers are encouraged to learn about the customs and cultures of different countries.
The Tetra Brazil Camp is heavily influenced by the Brazilian culture and will focus heavily on individual footwork and skills. It will include warming up to music, practicing skills to a samba beat and learning Portuguese words and numbers.
According to Challenger Sports, with over 30 years of experience, the most popular soccer camps in North America have got even better. A revolutionary mix of skills and activities from around the world fused with innovative technology allows players to enhance their learning experience at home.
Registration is done directly with Challenger Sports. The registration link is posted on the Lejeune-New River Youth Sports web page as well as more information about the program.
MCCS strives to develop youth physically, emotionally and socially with an emphasis on participation not competition.
