Eighteen Pennsylvania Air National Guardsmen with the 258th Air Traffic Control Squadron returned home after a six-month deployment to the Middle East in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and Operation Freedom Sentinel April 12, 2019.
Family and friends eagerly waited at Pittsburgh International Airport with flowers, balloons and welcome home signs colored with red white and blue.
As the Airmen entered the baggage claim area after their journey home they were met with warm embraces and tears of joy from their loved ones. In a deployed location the members of the 258th Air Traffic Control Squadron provide operation and maintenance of air traffic control and landing systems to ensure the safe efficient flying operations.
