Honor Guard Soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 3rd Aviation Regiment, 12th Combat Aviation Brigade joined representatives from West Point and family and friends of Neania Buehler, West Point director of instruction, to pay their respects and render funeral honors in a ceremony at Schwabisch Hall on April 8, 2019.
Buehler was an Army veteran before moving on to her post at West Point. She is survived by her husband, two children and three grandchildren.
Buehler lost her battle to cancer earlier this year on January 12, 2019.
The 1-3 Attack Reconnaissance paid their respects to Buehler by providing full military honors and a 21 gun salute.
“People remember how you touched them in your life, not what you did or who you were,” said Buehler’s husband, Manfred. “I have never experienced such an honorable service, yet a beautiful and perfect execution of how you conducted your honor guard. My wife would have been very pleased.”
