Contractors continued work on several construction projects at Fort McCoy during March 2019.
Workers for L.S. Black Constructors of St. Paul, Minn., continued working on new dining facilities in the 1800 and 2400 blocks at Fort McCoy.
The dining facility projects, coordinated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, are supposed to be completed in late 2019.
Workers with Platt Construction of Tomah, Wis., also continued work on the former Community Activity Center, building 2000, as part of a $5.1 million renovation of the building.
Construction completion is planned for fall 2019.
Once complete, the building will support the Army Reserve Mobilization Force Generation mission at the installation.
Other projects also continue to be finished and some new ones will begin later in the year, according to the Fort McCoy Directorate of Public Works.
Fort McCoy has supported America’s armed forces since 1909. The installation’s motto is to be the “Total Force Training Center.”
The post’s varied terrain, state-of-the-art ranges, new as well as renovated facilities, and extensive support infrastructure combine to provide military personnel with an environment in which to develop and sustain the skills necessary for mission success.
The installation has provided support and facilities for the field and classroom training of more than 100,000 military personnel from all services each year since 1984.
