The annual fund drive is held to bolster significant charitable contributions for Marines and sailors seeking emergency financial assistance. The fund drive also promotes increased awareness to Marines and sailors, presenting personnel with options for financial assistance.
“The Active Duty Fund Drive has two primary purposes,” says Christy Brown, Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society director. “The first is to raise awareness of the programs and services available to active duty Sailors and Marines, and also to raise funds to support the programs and services offered by the Navy-Marine Corps relief society.”
Marines and sailors who are interested in donating to the fund drive, which runs until April 5th, can talk with their unit coordinator or chain of command.
For more information about receiving financial assistance from the NMCRS, Marines and Sailors can visit nmcrs.org or contact your local MCRD Parris Island NMCRS at (843) 228-3512.
