A candidate was selected for outstanding Airman, noncommissioned officer and senior noncommissioned officer of the quarter.
Chief Master Sgt. James Wolverton, command chief, made the announcement through a wing-wide email.
“All candidates were nominated by their supervision and vetted through their unit and group leadership to compete in their respective categories,” said Wolverton. “Thank you to all supervisors that submitted Airmen.”
The selection process included meeting a formal selection board, the submission of a written nomination that highlighted the leadership, job performance, self-improvement and base or community involvement on each Airman.
The Airman of the Quarter is Airman 1st Class Jazzmin Tristan, a public health specialist with the MDG who returned from technical training in August of 2018.
Immediately after returning to the wing, Tristan trained with active duty Airmen from the 354th Medical Group here on Eielson for her Mission Essential Skills Training, or MEST. There she assisted with the wing deployment and medical clearance process for Reserve Component Periods-01, the deployment rotation cycle used by the Air Force to assign units to different deployment cycles.
“Not all could operate at the level Airman 1st Class Tristan has been performing at since her return from tech school,” said Chief Master Sgt. Danielle St. Laurent, MDG chief. “Her ability to jump right in and build relationships while applying her public health training made her invaluable.”
The NCO of the quarter is Tech. Sgt Adrian Miller, a transportation assistant with LRS.
Senior Master Sgt. Carrie Stokes, LRS superintendent, said Miller was nominated due to her leadership and performance during Sentry Aloha 19-01, a combat training exercise held earlier this year in Hawaii. During the exercise, she certified three squadron members on a 10K all-terrain forklift.
Miller was also the distribution lead NCO during the 30-day exercise and led three other people during this time. In addition, she completed over 40 hours of computer based training and five days of classroom instruction in order to be fully qualified to participate in this exercise.
The SNCO of the quarter is Master Sgt. Tyler Toth, a unit deployment manager with the MOF.
Senior Master Sgt. Benjamin Haynes, MOF superintendent, who has worked with Toth for the last three years said he is a reliable resource for readiness and logistics issues for the maintenance group, and is often sought out by other units within the wing for help because of his incredible work ethic.
“Master Sgt. Toth is someone who leads by example,” said Haynes. “He fully respects the wing’s mission and is always ready for the demands, rigors and most importantly the leadership challenges of a SNCO. [He] has made an indelible impact on the Maintenance Group and is someone who truly gets “it”.”
