Airmen from the 89th Attack Squadron at Ellsworth Air Force Base gathered at Mount Rushmore for the General Atomics’ MQ-1B/9 Squadron of the Year awards presentation on Dec. 7.
Maj. Gen. Peter Gersten, United States Air Force Warfare Center commander; Col. Julian Cheater, 432nd Wing and 432nd Expeditionary Wing commander; and Lt. Col. Michael, 89th ATKS commander were in attendance.
During the ceremony, Gersten spoke on the role of remotely piloted aircraft squadrons in the Air Force and the importance of the work they do to keep their fellow servicemembers and citizens safe from enemy attacks.
Michael also acknowledged his Airmens’ hard work and dedication throughout the past year and reminded them to keep looking to the future.
