Members of the 104th Civil Engineering Squadron explosive ordnance disposal team supported the Boston Police Department in the recovery of a mortar Jan. 3, 2019, in Massachusetts.
The EOD technicians have worked with Boston Police Department in the past, providing support for events such as the Boston Marathon.
Staff Sgt. John Tourtellotte, 104th CES EOD equipment NCO in charge, said his team works with national, state, and local agencies on a regular basis, and that training with the Boston Police has established a level of trust between them.
“It benefits both parties,” he said. "We work with them about once a month."
