TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – Modular facilities began arrival to Tyndall Dec. 19, 2018. The new facilities will provide temporary housing and work centers for Airmen stationed on the installation or personnel on temporary duty assignments to aid in the recovery effort for the destruction caused by Hurricane Michael.

“The first group of modular facilities being delivered to Tyndall consists of administrative facilities and sleeping quarters for our firemen,” said Giselle Concepcion, Tyndall Program Management Office member. “These facilities will be leased until the reconstruction of their permanent facility is completed.”

These new facilities will help restore normalcy to Airmen affected by the storm and help push the mission forward during the reconstruction of the base.

Some of the facilities will be marked as sleeping quarters for Tyndall firefighters, providing safe living arrangements in a suitable location for quick response times for emergencies that may arise across the installation.

“Other facilities will provide administrative space for the 325th Civil Engineering Squadron, 325th Contracting Squadron and 325th Logistics Readiness Squadron Vehicle Maintenance and Supply which are critical units working in support of Tyndall’s recovery,” Concepcion said.

Sixty-one modules are a part of the first group of facilities being delivered to the base. Each module will vary the amount of personnel it can house.

“The largest facility houses up to 164 personnel,” Concepcion added.

The location of the facilities will depend upon the unit it supports.

“The 325th CES and 325th CONS building will be located across the running track,” Concepcion noted. “Fire Station 2 will be located across from the 337th Air Control Squadron, and all others will be staged close to their facility prior to the hurricane.”

These facilities are a stepping stone toward recovery, enabling Tyndall Airmen achieve mission success.

“Tyndall Airmen are excited for the delivery of these modular buildings as it will provide a new working environment, enabling missions across the base,” Concepcion stated.
