    I Corps

CAMP HIGASHI-CHITOSE, Japan-- Sgt. Nicholas Sklenar-Brown, a networking system operator and maintainer with America’s First Corps and Spc. Mason Fontenot, an intelligence analyst with I Corps, reenlisted during Yama Sakura 75 at Camp Higashi-Chitose, Hokkaido, Japan, Dec. 15, 2018.

Sklenar-Brown and Fontenot chose to reenlist in a ceremony at a meeting with the U.S. Army and the Japan Northern Army.

America’s First Corps Commanding General, Lt. Gen. Gary Volesky, lead the Oath of Enlistment for Sklenar-Brown and Fontenot.

Army reenlistment ceremonies are a time-honored tradition that marks a Soldier’s commitment to service, and many Soldiers like to make this moment a memorable one.

Sklenar-Brown, from Magalia, California, is a platoon team lead for SIS.

Fontenot, from Lawton, Oklahoma, is reenlisting for another four years and will be stationed in Molesworth, England.

Yama Sakura is a bilateral exercise between the U.S. Army and the Japan Ground Self Defense Force. The exercise enhances cohesiveness between the two Armies by exchanging ideas, tactics, and military experience.
