92nd Air Refueling Wing

Congressional staffers visited Fairchild to learn more about Team Fairchild’s impact on the global air refueling mission and the local Spokane community, Oct. 18.

Leaders from the 92nd Air Refueling Wing, 141st ARW and 336th Training Group shared their missions, highlighted their Airmen and gave staffers an inside look at military life.

The staffers represented numerous leaders in Washington D.C. including Georgia Reps. Rick Allen and Sanford Bishop, Washington state Reps. Derek Kilmer and Cathy McMorris Rodgers, and North Carolina Rep. Walter Jones.

During the tour, staffers got up close with a KC-135 Stratotanker, witnessed, first-hand, Airmen returning from deployment, ate lunch amongst Airmen at the Warrior Mission Essential Feeding Facility, watched Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape instructors demonstrate basic water survival techniques and learned the ins-and-outs of the Vietnam War-era UH-1N Huey.
