Lieutenant Commander Jamie Rivas, Public Works Officer for Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, inspires attendees of the Barstow Women’s Club during their annual Salute to Women in the Military luncheon held at Los Domingo’s restaurant in Barstow, Calif., Nov 7. The BWC was established in 1922 and has been serving the Barstow area with scholarships, help to the needy and support to local charitable organizations. Also in attendance were Master Sgt. Tianna Tien, HqBn Communications Chief; Staff Sgt. Heather Austin, Utilities Chief with Fleet Support Division; Cpl. Alicia Frost, Headquarters Battalion Admin Assistant. The BWC members offered a special thanks to MCLB Barstow directors and supervisors who sponsored and paid for the luncheon for the Marines to attend the event.
