"Show me the money", a popular movie quote and a mission for four Soldiers of the 106th Financial Management Support Unit deployed to Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base, Romania, Oct. 2, 2018.
The Soldiers are on a four-month tour serving the Black Sea Area Support Team in Romania and Novo Selo Training Area in Bulgaria, as an ongoing mission from their headquarters in Grafenwoehr, Germany.
"We provide support for the Soldiers, civilians and give them what they need," said U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Mohamed Yessoufou, the team's non commissioned officer in charge.
The Soldiers duties include processing checks, dispersion of and exchanging cash, preparing financial reports, reviewing contracts, invoices and serving as cashiers.
"I have an accounting degree and I joined for this; I like numbers," said U.S. Army Spc. Marife Gutib, a dispersal agent with the team.
A steady stream of Soldiers, civilians and contractors kept the team busy. There was a constant rustle of paperwork as customers filed into and out of the small office. Invoices were reviewed and Eagle Cash Card withdrawals cashed in U.S. Dollars, Euros, Romanian Lei and Bulgarian Lev.
"You're like a human ATM," said U.S. Army Spc. Marlon Servellon, a dispersal agent with the team.
Over their 4-month tour, they will distribute more than one-half million dollars and support hundreds of customers, many from Atlantic Resolve, an enduring NATO mission improving readiness via multinational training.
