ATLANTIC CITY AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, N.J. - - U.S. Airmen from the 177th Civil Engineer Squadron, New Jersey Air National Guard, and employees from the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs participated in a base sustainment and beautification effort July 27, 2018, at the 177th Fighter Wing, Egg Harbor Township, N.J.
The 177th CES and State personnel spent over 130 hours for preparation and project completion at various locations on base to improve safety issues and security concerns.
“The 177th CES loves improving the base,” said Staff Sgt. Michael F. Garcia, a program analyst with the 177th CES. “We enjoy taking part in big projects like this.”
They performed concrete pouring projects at the main gate for the 177th Security Forces Squadron and created a Distribution Pedestal Pad on the flightline, for the 177th FW Pilots Deployable Debrief Facility, assisting the 177th Communication Flight.
Together they repaired and rebuilt an eroded storm drain, which posed a safety issue, and also constructed a pad for the 177th SFS for proper storage of deployable containers, to help prevent deterioration of the equipment.
“This was a joint effort between Airmen and the State work force,” said Garcia. “We hope our efforts are enjoyed by all base personnel.”
