UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters operated by crews with the Wisconsin Army National Guard landed at the Combined Arms Collective Training Facility on June 28, 2018, at Fort McCoy, Wis.

The Blackhawks and their crews supported a training effort for Exercise Audacious Warrior 2018 at Fort McCoy, which included nearly 60 Airmen from National Guard units in 10 states as well as teams of international service members who are part of explosive ordnance disposal teams trained.

The UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter is the Army’s primary medium lift utility transport and air assault aircraft, according to the Army.

The UH-60 Black Hawk is a twin-engined medium lift utility helicopter. It is equipped with a single 4-bladed rotor and a single four-bladed tail rotor.

The basic crew compliment for the UH-60 is three -- pilot, co-pilot, and crew chief. The Black Hawk is assigned to several Wisconsin National Guard aviation units.

Fort McCoy has supported America’s armed forces since 1909. The installation’s motto is to be the “Total Force Training Center.” The post’s varied terrain, state-of-the-art ranges, new as well as renovated facilities, and extensive support infrastructure combine to provide military personnel with an environment in which to develop and sustain the skills necessary for mission success.
