U.S., British, Romanian Forces Fun Run Celebrates Independence Day

More than 100 runners participated in the run hosted by the air base morale, welfare and recreation staff as part of the holiday festivities. Army Spc. Johnathen McDonald, Forward Support Company, 2-5 Cav, 1st ABCT, 1st CD earned first place, Zerneleanu Ionut, a Romanian Soldier, took second place and Fergus Atkinson O'Sullivan of the Royal Air Force came in third. Sarah Parker, left, of the Royal Air Force earned first place for women, Army Capt. Sarah Siekman and 2nd Lt. Joy Arakelian took second and third place.

Romanian soldiers, British airmen and United States Soldiers of the 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division completed a five kilometer fun run in honor of Independence Day at Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base, July 3, 2018. Army Spc.
